NULS began late one night in 1999-2000 when Naru, Shenkai and myself were up late one night in our dorm room coming up with such great 'favorites' as "Grandpa got run over by a Youma" and Naru was lamenting that there weren't any sites about Naru and Umino. Somewhere in the sleep-deprived ramblings and joking around, possibly because of the B-52s, possibly just because of the insanity caused by trying to name a site under those circumstances "Naru and Umino's Love Shack" came into fruition. We hammered out a loose framework in Microsoft Frontpage. Naru dumped a bunch of the pictures she had found while surfing in the library into the gallery generator and typed up some quick information and NULS was put up on shenkazi.net as part of 'Denara Ink'.

In 2002, Naru and I also collaborated on a Fushigi Yuugi fansite, and NULS was fleshed out a little bit and rearranged, and then taken down and then resurrected on ami-chan.net as I realized that there were no other fansites to NULS and ami-chan.net was generating quite the error log of people searching for the website. I added some screen caps which I had from capping for 'Shades of Blue' and didn't really do anything else with the site until today when I realize thanks to the Pockybox that if you're going to be the only one of something you should at least have the decency to attempt do it well otherwise what's the point?
